Earth Day: Zero Waste
It is time once again to think about how we can live a life that can leave a smaller carbon footprint on the earth. The website zerowastehome.com offers many helpful hints on how to reduce your waste at home. I would like to share some of the easy ways you can reduce waste today!
What you need:
Be sure to get a reusable water bottle, some totes for groceries, clothing bags, and reusable jars and bottles for food.
The website also says live by the 5 R’s: Refuse what you do not need, Reduce what you do need, Reuse what you consume, Recycle anything you can’t refuse/reduce/reuse, Rot (compost) everything else.
- Swap paper towels for reusable rags.
- Look into homemade cleaning products (for less toxicity and less waste).
- Line dry when possible
- Use ceramic dishes and cloth napkins that can be washed and reused.
- Use refillable pens at the office/home.
